Who is your personal role model?
Jun. 8th, 2004 10:00 pmAnakin's first reaction to the question is to type that it's Obi-Wan, his mentor. But his fingers pause over the keys and he considers that response. There are actually many people he considers to be role models to some extent or another: Master Yoda, Qui-Gonn, Shmi, Padme, Chancellor Palpatine, Master Windu, Master Yaddle, Siri, of course Obi-Wan, and many others as well. How could he choose just one? After a few more moments of thought, this is what he enters:
Master Obi-Wan is who I try to emulate. He is my mentor, my teacher...the closest thing I'll ever have to a father. So, essentially, he is my role model because it is he who has the specific task of teaching me my role in life as a Jedi.
However, while he probably has the most influence on my life as it is right now, there are many people who have had some sort of impact on me, and have shown me something about the various roles I have to fill in life and so have become role models for me in that regard. My mother taught me about kindness, and humility -- though I admit the second one I still have yet to learn fully -- long before I ever even heard of the Jedi. I have learned how to become a better warrior from Masters Windu and Yoda. Master Yaddle taught me about selflessness and sacrifice. Qui-Gonn taught me about compassion for your fellow beings and to help them when they are in need, even if you they're just another pathetic life form. Padme...Senator Amidala taught me about duty and the difficulties in making the right choice to help those people under your charge. These aren't the only people who have had an impact on me and from whom I've learned about my role in life but they are those who came to mind first.
I guess my point is that without all of these people, I wouldn't be the person I am today. So I can't really say that just one person is -the- role model for me, because they all are.
