[Ficlet. Has -no- bearing on Anakin in TM, just wanted to post it]

[This is in response to a fic challenge I issued to a star wars fan mailing list I'm on a long time ago. And then I thought about how it'd work for Obi and Ani and so...here it is.]

The younger man almost sounded like he was begging, "Now?"

The response he received was definitely not what he wanted to hear, "No, not now."

The two Jedi sat side by side, the younger one fidgeting madly and the older one trying so very hard not to roll his eyes. There was blissful silence from Obi-Wan's left for all of five minutes.

"Now??"

Obi-Wan gave a sigh of exasperation, "No. Not. Now."

Anakin frowned, sulked, fidgeted some more and waited a little longer. Two minutes, to be exact. In the most plantive tone he can muster, "Now????"

Obi-Wan is deciding his Padawan has all the patience of a three-year-old. "No. Not. Now!" Which would be fine if he -was- three, but really, a twenty-year-old ought to know better.

It's amazing how much sulking and fidgeting Anakin can pack into just a minute. Then, in the whiniest tone imaginable, which really must be blatant foreshadowing to his future son, he asks, "Now?"

Obi-Wan shakes his head, sighs, wonders how he got himself into this and nods, "Okay, now."

Anakin grins, bounces up, lets out a cry of glee, "Woohoo!" as he runs over to the holoprojector and flips the channel to the show he wants to watch. Silly Obi-Wan and his old-fogey shows and always making Anakin wait until they were -finally- over. As something looks suspiciously like the Coruscanti equivalent of "Junkyard Wars" begins, Anakin smirks at Obi-Wan. "This is -so- much better than that 'Trading Quarters' show."

Obi-Wan shakes his head, his Padawan would never understand the beauty of interior decorating, it would seem.
