The first time I saw...

...rain. He had still been young at the time, had still just recently come to the Temple. It had been one of the most amazing things he'd ever seen. Of course, he'd been told about rain, but to see it, just water continually falling from the sky was...indescribable. Even if it was the rain of Coruscant, which meant it was slightly oily and icky. It was still the first rain he'd ever seen.

Young Anakin had ended up standing for far too long outside on one of the Temple balconies, with his head tilted up to feel the cool water falling on his face, the funny prickles the drops made as they hit his skin. The wonderful feeling of the air's temperature dropping, the wind picking up a little. His clothes had been soaked, and he didn't care a whit.

Finally, Obi-Wan discovered him and carried the boy back inside, shaking his head and scolding Anakin about catching a cold if he did things like that. The scolding had been worth it, though, just to watch the water come down out of the clouds as it had. And it hadn't been so bad since the older Jedi had fussed over him a little, putting him in warm, dry clothes and fixes him something hot to drink.

In that moment, for the first time, it'd almost felt like home.
