There are those who call the path of a Jedi a religion. They say that a Jedi's reverence for the Force...for Life itself, and the rules he or she follows to therefore remain a member of the Order would constitute their religious dogma.

Anakin isn't certain he believes this view. Of course, he knows rather little about religion, having almost no exposure to it before he left home. He remembers his mother as a spiritual person, not religious. It was only after coming to Coruscant and having to learn about cultures in the Galaxy that he came to really find out much about religion. He tends to think the whole idea is silly. And, of course, that the path of Jedi is...while perhaps similar to an outsider, it's truly...different. A Jedi does not follow the Code because some Higher Being told him to. A Jedi does follows the Code because it is the right thing to do. Simple. And while some might consider the Force a Higher Being...it's not. Not really. If it must be termed anything like that, he would say it was more a collective consciousness of all life in the Galaxy. Everyone. Everything affects the Force, even if it's just a little bit. Jedi...and those Force-sensitive are just capable of tapping into that in a way most people aren't. And because of that, they have a responsibility to everyone else. Hence, the Order. And the Code. But it's not a religion.
